Coronavirus Update
July 8, 2020
CCC Family,
We are so excited about our first outdoor service together THIS Sunday at 5.30 p.m.!!! Bring your own chairs and tent/umbrellas (for shade) and join us in the back parking lot as we continue our new “Sola” series.
We’ll have a welcome tent with bottled water, an activity bag for kids, and the worship guide available. Please arrange your family’s seating in a socially distanced way from others. Though masks are NOT required as we will be outside, please wear a mask if you are interacting directly with others not a part of your immediate family. Also, parents, please keep a close eye on your children and encourage them to stay with you before, during, and after the service.
If you’re not able to join us in person, we’ll be streaming the service live at 5.30 p.m. on Facebook.
Lastly, start thinking now about who you can invite to join you in-person or online! This will be a great evening together. Let’s give others the opportunity to share it with us!
Blessings! We can’t wait to gather and celebrate with you!
For His name’s sake,
Pastor Landon
P.S. There will be no morning service on Sunday, July 12th, 2020

Dear CCC Family,
I hope and pray you're doing well and continuing to experience God's faithfulness during this most unusual season. As we move into the Summer, we wanted to send you an update on our July schedule and our reopening plans.
As our local, state, and national leaders continue to respond to the evolving Covid-19 situation and adjust their recommendations and guidelines, we are hoping to use the month of July as a transitional time as we look to eventually get back together in-person, inside. Here is what that means for some of our gatherings ...
WORSHIP - During July we will alternate hosting our Sundays services online (July 5, 19 at 10.30 a.m.) and in-person outside in the parking lot (July 12, 26 at 5.30 p.m.). For our outdoor services, feel free to bring your chairs and even a tent if you would like to set up in the back parking lot. We'll have a gift/activity bag for the kids and the building will be open for bathroom access.
MEN'S - Our guys will have two gatherings in July.
- July 14, 7 p.m. we'll host a cookout with social distancing (more details to follow)
- July 28, 8 p.m. we'll meet on our regular Zoom call
LADIES - Our ladies will have an outdoor event at the Reesors on July 19 from 4 to 6 p.m. (more details to come).
LIFEGROUPS - LifeGroups will continue to meet online and in-person (with social distancing, etc.) as each LifeGroup and their leadership determine. If you’re not connected to a LifeGroup yet, email Matt Kresge for more info.
Currently, we are working on our plans for August and September with the goal of returning to in-person, indoor services as quickly as possible within the health and safety parameters set out by our civic leaders. Those gatherings will probably involve some changes and alterations (social distancing, limited children's ministry, multiple services, etc.) compared to our previous experiences but the opportunity to be face-to-face (even if it's covered by a mask) is something we're excited to be a part of again!
If you have any questions, please reach out! We’d love to provide you with any additional information we have available. Blessings! We’ll see you this Sunday at 10.30 for our new series “Sola”.
For His glory among all people,
Pastor Landon

Dear Christ Community Family,
Over the last few weeks, our elder and staff teams have been watching the news intently as the impact of the coronavirus has expanded and the number of new cases being reported has steadily increased. Though we felt that no dramatic changes to our schedule of events have been necessary until now, our goal was to be prepared in the case that became the prudent course of action.
However, after several meetings yesterday with our leadership and in response to the town of Darien’s school closings announced last night and their recommendation to suspend all gatherings of 100 people or more, we are immediately cancelling all Sunday services and any other official CCC gatherings for the next two weeks. Those cancellations include our Sunday services on March 15 (including the CONNECT Lunch) and March 22 (including The Journey) as well as all LifeGroup meetings.
At the end of the two weeks, we will re-evaluate the situation and make a determination about our future schedule.
In the meantime, we will be broadcasting a service online at 10.30 on Sunday morning each week including music from our worship team and new messages from our Mark series - all through our Facebook page. So don’t miss this opportunity to continue to worship, learn, give, and grow!
As a church, we are incredibly grateful for God’s sovereignty over all Creation especially in moments like this. While we want to express an appropriate measure of caution and be good stewards of those that enter into our building, we do not want to move forward in fear but rather faith. We also want to be wise and use this as an opportunity to give a reason “for the hope that is in you” to those who may not yet know the confidence and assurance we have in Christ. (1 Peter 3.15).
Over the last few weeks, I’ve been amazed at stories detailing how the church in China has been boldly and faithfully sharing the Gospel in the streets as worries and concerns over the virus have gripped the population there. May that same kind of courage and compassion be ours!
So join us in prayer for all those who have fallen ill or those who have experienced the loss of a loved one from the virus. Pray for all those in positions of leadership who are managing our local, state, national, and global responses. And let’s pray for those whose hearts may be opened to the message of Christ in a season of uncertainty like this.
Blessings. We’ll look forward to watching and worshipping with you this Sunday at 10:30 a.m.!!!
